Ariane & Chris's Wedding at the Boathouse at Sunday Park

Ariane and Chris’s wedding day arrived after months of thoughtful planning and heartfelt intention — and from the very beginning, the joy they carried set the tone for everything that followed.

Andre and I started the day with Chris and his groomsmen, and their easygoing, fun energy made it clear this would be a celebration filled with laughter. Between the beige suits, the relaxed vibe, and a few playful moments (including recreating a classic bridal-party pose later in the day), the morning felt light and full of anticipation.

Getting Ready with Joy and Intention

Soon after, we headed to where Ariane was getting ready with her bridesmaids and flower girls. The room was filled with excitement, laughter, and soft pink robes — the kind of atmosphere that makes documenting these moments feel especially meaningful.

Melinda, the maid of honor, was incredibly attentive and helped gather all the details Ariane wanted photographed. From the flat lays with pink florals to the wedding dress, rings, bouquet, and shoes (yes — sneakers for the reception, which I loved), every element reflected Ariane’s personality: thoughtful, joyful, and practical in the best way.

First Look and Bridal Portraits

Once the details were complete, we moved into final touches, bridal portraits, and one of the most emotional moments of the day — Ariane and Chris’s first look.

Ariane has such a calm, gentle presence. I noticed it during our very first phone call, but watching her on her wedding day — caring for everyone around her while quietly taking in the moment — was something special. Capturing that first look, filled with tenderness and emotion, was a true honor.

As a Richmond wedding photographer, documenting days like this — joyful, relaxed, and deeply connected — is exactly why I love what I do.

A Waterfront The Boathouse at Sunday Park Wedding

The rest of the day unfolded beautifully at The Boathouse at Sunday Park, one of the most scenic Richmond wedding venues for couples who love water views and golden light.

The garden ceremony space, set right along the water, created a peaceful and intimate atmosphere, while the reception at the Gardens Pavilion offered the perfect setting for dinner, dancing, and celebration. A huge shoutout to Liz, the day-of coordinator, whose calm presence and organization kept everything running smoothly.

And the sunset? Absolutely stunning. The way the light reflected off the water during golden hour was unforgettable.

Dancing, Celebration, and Meaningful Moments

From the warm energy Ariane and Chris brought into the day to the packed dance floor later that evening, their celebration was one to remember. Black Tie Entertainment kept the energy high with a mix of Brazilian music and crowd favorites, while guests enjoyed delicious cake and fun moments at the photo booth.

Every part of the evening felt joyful and welcoming — a true reflection of the love and hospitality Ariane and Chris share with the people around them.

A Wedding Rooted in Faith and Gratitude

Ariane and Chris, it was such a gift to witness and capture your wedding day. Your kindness, joy, and faith were felt in every moment, and it was an honor to document the beginning of this new chapter in your lives.

I pray that God continues to guide your marriage, bless your steps, and fill your home with love, laughter, and peace.
