Lana & Garrett | The Dominion Club
When I think of weddings that truly reflect the heart of a couple, Lana and Garrett’s wedding day at The Dominion Club in Richmond, Virginia immediately comes to mind.
Their story began a few years ago and naturally grew into a bond rooted in care, laughter, and shared values. From my very first conversation with Lana, I could tell they were the kind of couple who make everyone around them feel comfortable — easygoing, kind, and deeply connected. Together, they love cooking (Lana has a soft spot for sweets and chose the best cake), spending time outdoors, and finding joy in the simple moments.
A Timeless Fall Wedding Celebration
As a Richmond wedding photographer, I love documenting wedding days that feel calm, intentional, and deeply personal. Lana and Garrett’s October wedding day was everything a fall celebration should be: timeless, elegant, and filled with genuine happiness.
Their color palette of dusty rose, gold, and ivory set a romantic tone that paired beautifully with the warm fall light streaming through the windows at The Dominion Club. The entire day felt calm, intentional, and thoughtfully planned — a reflection of who they are as a couple.
The morning began with excitement in both the bridal and groom suites. Lana looked absolutely stunning in her Maggie Sottero gown from Urban Set Bride, while Garrett and his groomsmen shared laughter on the balcony overlooking the golf course.
A Meaningful First Touch Before the Ceremony
Instead of a first look, Lana and Garrett chose to share a first touch before the ceremony — a quiet, emotional moment that allowed them to connect without seeing each other.
It was one of those moments that gently re-centered the day, reminding them what it was truly about. (I’ll admit — it was hard not to cry.)
Ceremony at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church
Their ceremony at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church was beautiful and reverent, surrounded by family and friends. The love in the room was undeniable.
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at The Dominion Club with a reception that blended cultures and joy in the most incredible way. One of the most unforgettable moments was their Jordanian grand entrance, led by drummers from ZEO Events — the energy was electric and set the tone for the night.
Lana also surprised her mom with a bouquet dedication instead of a bouquet toss — a meaningful tribute that left not a single dry eye in the room.
The Dominion Club Wedding Venue in Richmond
Located in Glen Allen, The Dominion Club is one of my favorite venues featured in my Richmond wedding venues guide, thanks to its timeless architecture and open spaces.
Lana and Garrett chose this venue for its elegance and flexibility, and it truly delivered. We made full use of the outdoor locations — including the gazebo — and the light that day was absolutely unreal.
A huge thank-you to Desirae Miller, the venue coordinator, who went above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly (including expertly navigating the golf cart to get everyone where they needed to be!).
With around 130 guests, the space felt both lively and intimate — exactly the kind of atmosphere that suited Lana and Garrett perfectly. The night ended with a sparkler exit in front of the venue, closing the day on the highest note.
Capturing Their Wedding Day with Intention
From the very beginning, Lana and Garrett shared how important it was for them to have their wedding day captured naturally — with emotion, connection, and those quiet moments that often go unnoticed.
As their Richmond wedding photographer, my goal was to honor their story by capturing both the elegance of their details and the depth of their relationships. From Lana’s first look with her dad, to Garrett’s dance with his mom, to the laughter shared with his two best men, Reece and Tyler — every moment mattered.
Their gallery truly reflects the spirit of their day.

A Wedding Day I’ll Always Remember
I left The Dominion Club that evening feeling grateful — not only for the beauty of the day, but for the warmth of two people who clearly bring out the best in one another.
Lana and Garrett, thank you so much for trusting me to photograph your wedding day. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with joy, love, and prosperity.
