Emilee & Logan | The Barn at Timber Creek
Who remembers Emilee & Logan from their engagement session at Maymont Park back in 2024?
It feels like yesterday I was walking around that blooming garden with them, dreaming about their big day – and now here we are, just a few days after their whimsical, pastel-filled spring wedding at The Barn at Timber Creek in Farmville, VA!
Emilee and Logan are the kind of couple every wedding photographer hopes to work with: sweet, relaxed, and completely in love. Emilee has this gentle voice and a delicate smile that instantly makes you feel welcome. Logan is lively and full of energy – he’d move mountains just to see her smile. High school sweethearts who’ve love traveling together, they’re true soulmates.
Their May wedding day was wrapped in sunshine and color, with a joyful palette of pink, purple, yellow, and blue. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to reflect their playful personalities – even their cats made a (cake-topper) appearance! From a surprise “Happy Birthday” during the ceremony to Logan’s emotional first look at his bride, the day was a perfect blend of fun and heartfelt moments.
Everything took place at The Barn at Timber Creek – a dreamy Virginia venue that offered stunning backdrops for each part of the day. The bridal suite, filled with soft window light (photographer heaven!); the pine tree ceremony setting; the terrace for cocktail hour; and the spacious barn for their reception with around 100 guests – all flowed perfectly. My favorite portrait location? Definitely the pond – such a peaceful view that added so much depth to their gallery!
Fun fact: the venue was built by owners Whitney and her husband in 2015 for their own wedding, and they’ve been pouring love into every event since. Whitney and Ashley were incredible to work with – so kind, organized, and FUN. I can’t recommend them enough if you’re venue-hunting in Virginia!
Every little detail of the day felt intentional and authentic. Emilee looked stunning – from her beautiful hair style to her delicate bouquet. Logan’s classic suit paired perfectly, and their entire bridal party brought such good energy to every photo. Special shoutout to Kaila, the maid of honor, for being my unofficial assistant during portraits!
I truly can’t say enough about how grateful I am to have photographed this wedding. Google really knows how to match me with my dream couples! Their 10-hour wedding day flew by, and I left wanting to stay longer. When the timeline is smooth, the communication is effortless, and the couple is this amazing – you know it’s a day no one will forget.
And my favorite moment? Without a doubt: the first look. The way Logan looked at Emilee… That’s the kind of love that makes this job everything as a one of the wedding photographers in Richmond VA.
