Bruna & Thiago | The Virginia Cliffe Inn
My 2025 wedding season is filled with amazing and loving couples, and these two have a special place in my heart! You probably remember them from their engagement session at the VMFA and the Virginia Capitol building last year, right? So, Bruna & Thiago’s wedding took place on a very warm Friday in the summer with the kind of golden Virginia evening every wedding photographer dreams of.
The vibe was romantic and elegant with a joyful twist. Their color palette featured summer tones with touches of greenery, perfectly complementing the lush gardens of The Virginia Cliffe Inn. What stood out most was how much love surrounded them: from family who had traveled all the way from Brazil to friends who cheered them on at every moment.
One of the highlights of the day was the way they incorporated small nods to their Brazilian roots into the celebration, from the music to the delicious cake & desserts. It truly felt like a perfect reflection of who they are.
Bruna & Thiago chose The Virginia Cliffe Inn, because of its timeless charm. The ceremony under the trees, the reception at the pavilion with around 50 guests, and the dance floor under the tent, all added uniqueness to their day. Even the swans made an appearance!
As a Virginia wedding photographer, it was my first time photographing at the venue and I loved it. It was so versatile and the staff so nice!
Bruna & Thiago first found me through friends who recommended me... which makes me smile every time I think about it - I just LOVE my past clients. I photographed both their engagement session and their wedding, and I can honestly say every moment with them was filled with laughter and connection. For their wedding day, I provided full coverage of getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and the reception.
They asked for a mix of elegant portraits that I would guide them and fun, candid shots that captured the energy of the day. My favorite moment? During golden hour, when the two of them slipped away from the crowd for a few quiet portraits and they danced under the gazebo while I hummed "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" giving Twilight vibes (we laughed out loud!).
While I'm still editing the whole gallery I can't stop thinking about how much these two love each over for over nine years and how much care and tenderness they share for one another.
Bruna & Thiago, thank you SO much for letting me photograph such a beautiful season of your lives. I'll be here as a friend for all the future adventures!
