Morgan & Josh’s Virginia Countryside Wedding at Foxrun Venue & Events

Morgan and Josh’s wedding day was one of those days that just felt good from the moment I arrived.
And honestly, with around 150 guests, a large wedding party, big white tents, family, and rain somewhere in the forecast… the day was calm and fun.
People were helping, laughing, getting ready, walking around the house, and simply enjoying the day.
Morgan and Josh got married at Foxrun Venue & Events in Lunenburg, Virginia, and the whole property had such a sweet countryside feeling.
The farmhouse, the open space, the white tents, the spring colors… it all made the day feel personal and warm.
And as a Richmond wedding photographer, I loved that.
A Spring Countryside Wedding Day in Lunenburg, Virginia
Their wedding was on April 25, 2026, and it had all the things I love about a spring wedding in Virginia.
Soft greens.
Light blue details.
White florals.
A big outdoor ceremony.
And a reception under a beautiful white tent.
Morgan chose a color palette of light blue, greens, and whites, and it fit the property so well. Everything felt colorful, but still soft. Classic, but not too formal.
Morgan looked so beautiful in her Lillian West gown from Ashley Grace Bridal, and her hair and makeup by Madisin Atkins and A Beautiful Darling felt soft, natural, and perfect for the day.
As a Virginia wedding photographer, I always love when couples choose locations that feel personal to their story.
Morgan and Josh’s Story
Morgan and Josh have known each other since 2019, but they started dating in July of 2021.They were friends first, which I think is so sweet.
They just know how to be together. They love being outside, spending time with their dogs, and being with family. Josh enjoys golf, hunting, and fishing, and Morgan loves being close to her family and the people she loves.
Their First Touch Before the Ceremony
Morgan and Josh decided not to do a first look, but they did share a first touch before the ceremony.
And it was such a sweet moment. They stood where they could hold hands and talk without seeing each other, and it gave them a few quiet minutes before everything started. Morgan cried and Josh tried to hide his tears. haha
I love first touches for that reason.
You still get to save the walk down the aisle, but you also get to breathe together for a second.
With the guests waiting, a full wedding party, and a long day ahead, I think those few minutes meant a lot.
Portraits Before the Rain
Now this part still makes me smile.
After the ceremony, we worked through family photos like on a marathon, because the rain was just around the corner. Then we moved to Morgan and Josh’s portraits, and bridal party portraits.
And right after we finished…
The rain came.
Not before the ceremony.
Not during family photos.
Not in the middle of their portraits.
Right after.
And I really do believe that was such a blessing.
Their day was a perfect reminder of why a thoughtful wedding day timeline matters so much.
The forecast could have made the day stressful, but we had just enough time to get what we needed outside with the farmhouse, the fields, the tent, and all the spring color around them.
Then everyone could head under the tent and keep celebrating.
Wedding days never go exactly according to plan, but sometimes the timing works out in a way that feels like a little gift from God.
That was one of those moments.
A Reception Under the White Tent
The reception was under the white tents, and it had such a fun family-party feeling. They had their grand entrance, first dance, prayer, dinner, speeches, parent dances, dance floor, cake cutting, and a grand exit later in the night.
Mitchells Restaurant and Lounge handled the dinner, TJ Creations: Cakes by LaTonya created the cake, and DJ Offishal kept the evening moving from the special dances into the party.
There was always something happening.
People laughing.
Family gathering for photos.
Friends dancing.
Guests hugging Morgan and Josh every time they walked by.
It was a big wedding, but it still felt personal.
And I think that says a lot about the people around them.
It was also so sweet working alongside Draped in White, who captured the day on video while I photographed all the little in-between moments.
Morgan and Josh, thank you for trusting me to photograph your wedding day.
It was such a joy to be there and to watch everything come together so beautifully.
