There’s something about summer evenings at Maymont that makes every photo session feel dreamy. Abigail’s senior session was exactly that: timeless, joyful, and filled with personality.

Abigail was such a gentle senior to work with. From the moment we started planning her session, I could tell she wanted her photos to truly reflect who she is: sweet, easygoing, and ready to the next photo.

She chose three beautiful outfits. Her white and blue floral dress created the perfect flowy, feminine look against the garden backdrop at Maymont. Then, as the sun dipped lower, she changed into an ivory and purple dress... a soft, romantic choice that caught the golden light so effortlessly.

And finally, for her last outfit, she pulled on her favorite pair of jeans, a casual top, and boots for a rustic, country-inspired vibe that felt so natural to her.

Maymont is one of my favorite places for senior portraits. It’s elegant yet relaxed, with stone walls, flower paths, and the kind of charm that feels like Virginia through and through. Every turn has a new texture, color, or light that adds a beautiful touch to each senior’s gallery.

For Abigail’s session, we started in the Herbal Garden, then moved to the fountain, and ended the evening by the Italian Garden as the sun set behind the trees. The light wrapped around her perfectly... those glowy, golden tones that make every photo feel soft and cinematic were my favorite to photograph!

What I loved most about photographing Abigail was how naturally she moved through each look. There was no rush — just genuine moments of laughter, curiosity, and confidence. Whether she was walking through the garden paths or leaning casually against the stone wall, every image felt true to who she is.

There’s so much joy in capturing seniors at this exciting season of life... a season full of possibility, celebration, and personal style.
