Jessika’s family is so dear to my heart!

I first met them a few years ago during a cozy fall evening maternity session, when they were expecting their second daughter. Since then, I’ve had the blessing of photographing them year after year... and most recently, we created this beautiful candid family session right here in Richmond, VA.

As a Richmond photographer, one of the things I love most is watching families grow in front of my lens. Every time we’re together, I know it’s going to be a joyful experience. We let the children — three beautiful and sweet girls — simply be themselves. They run, explore, giggle, and share their little observations about the world.

One of my favorite moments from this session? Hearing a small voice say, “Mommy, I’m really tired,” once we wrapped up all the playing and photographing. That’s when I know the kids have had fun, and we’ve captured images that are both beautiful and real.

Jessika’s family is actually the one that inspired me to write this line on my website:

“When families come to me, it’s usually because they’re realizing just how quickly time moves… and they want to hold onto this season a little longer.”

And it’s true — children grow in the blink of an eye. One year they’re holding onto your hand to walk across the park, the next they’re running ahead with confidence. Photos help freeze these fleeting moments so you can come back to them again and again.
