We, Richmonders, know that there’s something magical about Maymont Park in the spring – and Morgan & Josh’s engagement session was the perfect example of that magic coming to life.
We met on a crisp spring morning, and although I typically aim for golden hour sessions, we adjusted the schedule to avoid rain – and honestly? It turned out even better than we could've hoped. The morning light, with blooming tulips and cherry blossoms, gave us the most whimsical, romantic setting.
Morgan and Josh are so fun and outgoing. From the moment we started photographing, their connection was effortless. We walked through the gardens, wandered up the stone stairs, danced under the canopy of trees, and soaked in the beauty of the park.
One of my favorite parts about photographing at Maymont Park is how versatile it is. It has traditional features, the gardens, stone walls, and open fields that deliver a setting that feels like a fairytale. Think about your wedding theme!
Morgan wore a flowy, periwinkle blue dress that moved beautifully with every step, and Josh looked timeless in his navy blazer and light slacks. They’re tying the knot in Lunenburg, VA next spring, and these photos are going to be used for their save-the-dates – which makes my heart so happy! I love when engagement photos serve a purpose beyond the session.
