If you’re pregnant, stay tuned… I have something very fun coming up for 2026! I can’t say much yet, but it’s something I’ve been dreaming about for years as a Richmond photographer who loves documenting families through every season of life.
One question I get all the time is:
“Do you only photograph weddings?”
And the answer is a big no — I photograph it all. Weddings, families, maternity, newborn sessions, cake smashes, birthday parties, senior portraits, headshots… you name it. My heart is rooted in storytelling. I love following the same family from their engagement, to their wedding day, to the day they bring their babies home. That’s the real blessing of being a photographer.
Today, I want to share a session that is so close to my heart! A cozy newborn session with a family I’ve been photographing since their engagement session a few years ago. They just welcomed their youngest daughter, and we spent the sweetest morning capturing this new season together.
Why I Love Long-Term Client Stories
There’s something special about walking into a home where everyone already knows you. No awkward first five minutes… just real moments. As a Richmond photographer, these are the days when my job feels like a blessing... where the camera simply becomes a witness.
I photographed Angela and Scott’s engagement session at the VMFA then their wedding at the Hanover Country Club, then maternity sessions… and now their second baby girl is here. Watching a family grow in front of my lens is the most meaningful part of this work.
Baby Jolie is pure blessing in every way: soft, sleepy, loved by everyone in the house, and already filling the room with joy. And look at big sister’s smile! She is obsessed with her baby sister. And big brother Leo? He now has his hands full with these adorable girls!
The Beauty of At-Home Newborn Sessions
Newborn sessions at home are an entirely different experience than studio photography. They feel relaxed, authentic, and comfortable... especially for siblings. No rushing out the door, no car seats, no trying to keep a toddler entertained in a new space. You stay in your environment, surrounded by your rhythms and baby’s needs.
As a Richmond photographer who works with newborns, this is always my goal: soft light, quiet moments, natural interaction, and nothing staged beyond gentle guidance. I want your photos to look like your real life, just beautifully captured.

Yes, I love clean edits, natural tones, delicate posing… but I’ll always chase the moment first. That split second when a dad kisses his baby’s forehead, or a sibling leans in without being asked, or the mom closes her eyes while holding her newborn... praying silently and choosing to remember this exact feeling.
Those are the images families print. Those are the memories that stay.
