Andressa & Daniel | A Spring Engagement Session

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite chapters to photograph… and as a Richmond engagement photographer, I love when couples choose locations that are beautiful, romantic, and Andressa & Daniel’s engagement session in Washington DC was exactly that.

We photographed their session right after cherry blossom peak, and even though we totally missed the full bloom timing, Enid A. Haupt Garden gave us the most beautiful spring greens. The garden felt fresh and peaceful... the perfect setting for a couple who is stepping into such an exciting chapter together.

I have known Andressa for a long time, so seeing her engaged and getting to photograph this season of her life was such a joy for me. She is extroverted, happy, full of life, and truly the kind of person who brings joy everywhere she goes.

Daniel is so blessed to have met such a wonderful woman, and Andressa is just as blessed to have met her soulmate.

Enid A. Haupt Garden Engagement Photos in Washington DC

Enid A. Haupt Garden was the perfect first location for their Washington DC engagement photos. The greenery, garden pathways, and soft spring feeling gave their session such a timeless look.

What I loved most about this engagement session at Enid A. Haupt Garden:

• The greens were beautiful, even after cherry blossom peak

• The garden felt peaceful and elegant

• It gave us a soft, romantic backdrop for natural portraits

Starting the session here allowed Andressa & Daniel to ease into photos naturally — walking through the garden, laughing together, and simply enjoying this sweet season.

A Love Story Rooted in Family, Faith, and Joy

One of the most meaningful parts of Andressa & Daniel’s story is something she shared with me before their session.

After dating for only four months, Daniel traveled all the way to Brazil to meet her family. But what meant the most to Andressa was not just that he made the trip — it was seeing how respectful he was with her parents and how well he treated her whole family.

Everyone loved him back.

And for Andressa, that was something she had prayed to God for.

That detail made this session even sweeter to photograph. These photos are about two people building a life together with love, respect, faith, and so much joy.

Meridian Hill Park Engagement Session

After Enid A. Haupt Garden, we headed to Meridian Hill Park for the second part of their engagement session.

A little heads up for couples planning photos there: Meridian Hill Park is currently under construction, and the fountain area is blocked. But even without the fountain, we were still able to photograph in the surrounding areas and find beautiful spots around the park.

Meridian Hill Park still worked beautifully for:

• Classic DC architecture

• Stone details and greenery

• A more editorial, city-park feel

Even with the construction, Andressa & Daniel made everything easy. Their joy, laughter, and connection carried the session, and those little surrounding areas gave us the perfect variety to finish their gallery.
