I’ve been so blessed to capture countless cherished memories this year, and I can’t even reflect on 2024 without feeling so grateful for the amazing families I’ve worked with. Kelsey’s family session was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon filled with fun moments, laughter, and love, all on a stunning golden-hour evening in Fredericksburg.
Kelsey’s family session was pure joy from beginning to end. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting Kelsey’s journey, from her maternity session to her newborn photos, and now this beautiful session with her entire family. This one was particularly special because it brought together four generations of incredible women.
The session took place in Fredericksburg, and that became one of my favorite locations for family photography in Virginia. The soft golden hourlight behind the Estate created an almost magical atmosphere. As we gathered, the gentle winds carried butterflies through the air, adding a whimsical touch to the moment (check out my IG feed to see the video I posted about the session). Every detail was calm—from the giggles shared between the children to the family's hugs.
These are the moments I live to capture.
Photographing families is about preserving memories that tell your story, especially for Kelsey who really wanted to register moments with her grandmother. This session, featuring four generations of women, was a reminder of how important it is to document these relationships. Life moves so quickly, and having photos to look back on allows us to relive these moments and share them with the little ones who might not remember all the details.
Kelsey, thank you for trusting me to capture your family’s journey. Seeing your family grow and being part of these milestones has been such a privilege. This session brought me happiness from start to finish, and I hope these photographs will bring the same joy to you and your family for years to come.
