Kaitlyn & Matt | Wedding Photographer in Virginia
My last wedding of the season could not have been more beautiful or filled with precious memories. As a wedding photographer in Virginia, I feel truly honored to capture days like these.
I met Kaitlyn and Matt during the summer at Nyela & Don’s wedding. They were one of those couples whose caring attitudes toward each other were visible from a mile away. I remember Kaitlyn helping me carry my bag to the car that day and asking, “Are you available on November 1st? I’m getting married, and I’d love for you to be our photographer!” I was overjoyed that she connected with my photography style.
Last Saturday was everything you could dream of for a Virginia fall wedding. The leaves painted the landscape in a stunning wave of orange, red, and yellow, and the weather was perfect. I started the day photographing Kaitlyn’s bridal details (her selections were gorgeous!) and then met Matt at their home for the groom’s details and portraits. Matt’s best man, Fabian, was there to share the excitement and lend a hand as they prepared for the ceremony.
When we moved on to bridal portraits and the first look, I saw Kaitlyn’s wedding dress hanging beautifully, just waiting for her. From makeup to jewelry and perfume, Kaitlyn looked like a true princess, radiating excitement for the first look.
Their first look and portrait photos perfectly captured their sweet, gentle love for each other.
After portraits, Kaitlyn and Matt stepped outside to board the carriage that would take them to the ceremony—straight out of a fairytale! Every detail was tastefully chosen, and the ceremony itself was deeply moving. Many tears were shed during the speeches (I was glad to hide my tears behind the camera!), and the reception was lively with the Maid of Honor, Lana, playing the violin during the couple's first dance. The night was filled with wonderful family and friends. It was also great to see Nyela & Don again and to feel so warmly welcomed by this amazing group of people.
Not to mention the incredible vendor team that was such a joy to work with! From the makeup and hair team, catering, florist, DJ, live painting artist, and guest portrait painter, to the cake designer—everyone made the day extra special.
I hope these photos convey just how incredible Kaitlyn & Matt’s wedding day was. I wish them a lifetime of happiness, blessings, and every accomplishment they dream of.
